I love rirakkuma. So, the Japanese word for relax is (romanization here) is rirakkusu, and the Japanese word for bear is kuma. There’s this product, whose name is rirakkuma, and it’s a bear that’s really chill. Get the pun? I love puns, and so does Japan; yet another reason why I love it here.
I spent the day relaxing. I woke up and felt bad for not really doing anything, but I quickly convinced myself that I would be burned out for the rest of the week if I tried to do anything today. I got out of bed, fooled around on the computer, ate breakfast, read a bunch of this manga that was recommended to me, etc.
The only adventurous thing I did today was go out and map out a route to a convenience store near my house. It occurred to me that Sometimes after school or something, I may want a nikuman, or some pan from the convenience store, and the best place to get some would be a convenience store. It would be nice if there was one on the way from the station to my house, but my house is a two minute walk from the station, so that’s not happening.
From the station I made my way towards the small shopping strip that I found on my previous outing. It’s not a long walk, maybe 5 minutes or so, and I did manage to find what looked like a convenience store to me. Sadly, today being a national holiday, the convenience store was closed. I kept walking determined to get some snacks of some kind, and happened upon a supermarket. I made a quick sweep of the store, then started from the beginning, doing a more thorough sweep to take notice of everything.
I ended up getting some chips (potato, and another kind which has a shrimp on the wrapping, so we’ll see how that tastes), some strawberry chocolates, melon bread, milk tea and Mitsuya Cider, which I have a strong suspicion is ramune, but I’m not sure.
The rest of the day consisted of food, reading manga, finishing my Carl Hiaasen book (not his best, but still good), tv and talking with my okaasan.
I’m feeling a lot less tired than the past few days, having been able to sleep for 8 or more hours for the past few days. And I feel psychologically more rested since I didn’t have to be very social or anything today, and last night I got a chance to play some games on my computer which was a nice change of pace. One of them was a horror game which I’m liking so far; it’s doing a good job of keeping me scared. Probably won’t get a chance to play it until later in the week, but oh well.
Ok, I’m gonna dig into this melon pan, or have some ice cream.
